During a 90-minute walking tour, your colonial guide will share the history and culture of Annapolis. This includes a tour outside Maryland’s historic State House, the country’s oldest state capitol in continuous legislative use. You will hear about the Old Senate Chamber, where in 1783 George Washington resigned his commission. Children will delight in seeing a cannon that was rescued from an original vessel in St. Mary’s City and learning why that was Maryland’s first capital. Walking through the historic district you will pass 18th-century mansions, one that housed a Maryland signer of the Declaration of Independence. On this kid-centric tour, your guide will tell you how different life was for a child in colonial days. Enjoy getting on the water on this 40-minute cruise around Annapolis Harbor and the banks of the U.S. Naval Academy – narrated with history, ecology, and more. You are welcome to bring your brown bag lunch as you enjoy the sights. Snacks and beverages available for purchase.
